I never like feeling pressured into joining a video chat right off the bat with someone I don't know, so I was pleased to see that Badoo will give me the option to chat with the person through text first.

I do like that video chat is an option, however, because too many people are being catfished nowadays, so I want to be able to see the person I'm talking to so that I know they are at least genuine when showing me pictures.

Find People Near You

If you've ever used a dating app or service, then you know just how disheartening it can be to make a match with someone who is too far away to date conveniently in person.

Badoo uses your GPS to look for other users within your area. Although you can use the app to chat with people all over the world, it's nice to have the option to narrow that search down to a few miles.

Limited Messaging Without Reply

There's nothing worse than a creeper blowing up your phone when you have little to no interest in speaking with them. Badoo actually limits the amount that you can directly message someone by blocking their contact after two messages have been sent.

If you do not reply to that person, then Badoo will make sure to hold them at bay so that they are not bothering you. However, if you are interested in getting to know the other user, simply reply to open up the lines of communication with them.

Badoo takes several precautions to make sure that you know who you are speaking with and to ensure your safety when using the app. I love that you can browse other profiles even when you're offline and that they don't allow anyone to harass you with spam in your message box.
