Apple iTunes is one of the most popular entertainment apps.
With iTunes you get a really complete entertainment package, not only can you listen to music but you can also buy or rent thousands of movies & TV shows.
With iTunes you can, similar to the Pandora online radio app, create your own radio stations compiled of your favorite artists, albums or songs.
iTunes offers a fair priced subscription package that gives you access to more than 45 million songs.
It allows for download of whole albums or single songs that you can then listen to while your device is offline.

Apple’s ingenious plan to take over the music industry is one of the world's greatest success stories. The latest update (v12.8) has made it both easy to use and even more sleek than previous editions of the app.
Apple Music is a subscription service and not part of the standard iTunes app unless the user pays for it. All of the iTunes purchases are seamlessly added to the subscription for Apple Music subscribers. Apple Music was a genius addition to the iTunes service, subscription prices hovering around $15/mo for the entire family make it a real steal. When Jobs first created iTunes he boasted that iTunes put 100,000 songs in your pocket, today that number is 50 million songs which are all included with Apple Music. This addition to iTunes is well worth considering.
The iTunes app integrates seamlessly with iCloud. iCloud is Apple's cloud storage platform which is integrated not only into iTunes but all of their services. In iTune's case this means that all of your purchases are also saved in the cloud so that you can access them anytime, anywhere.
Any iTunes customer can set up Family Sharing for the iTunes app as well. Included are up to six family members. For Apple Music this means that your entire family can share and listen to any song. If you purchase Movies or TV shows those can also be watched by anyone in your family.
To include someone in your family, all you have to do is send them an invite to their iCloud email, or set up a fresh family account for them. Another added benefit for your iTunes family sharing account is to assign your family members an allowance to make their own purchases. This is especially useful if you let your children have their own accounts, so they can't go crazy on in-app purchases.
iTunes Movies, TV Shows & Music Extras
Many of your iTunes purchases also come with extras like behind the scenes bonus footage, blooper reels or alternate endings. Whatever would be available on the DVD version, is also available as bonus through iTunes.
Many iTunes Movies & TV Shows also have various audio versions in different languages. So if you're for example a native Spanish speaker, or you want to brush up on your Spanish skills you can easily watch your favorite content in Spanish. Alternatively also with subtitles.
For music, some albums also have additional content like music videos or recordings of concerts.
This is something that you don't have with Netflix for example, I love Netflix but due to the nature of their service, most content is rotated frequently.
So what I like to do is buy by personal all-time favorites on iTunes, so I can binge watch TV shows or my favorite movies at any time. Like for example my yearly Star Wars marathon :) (Which lasts several days)
iTunes For Android
This is an area where iTunes still is lacking, at the time of this writing iTunes is only available as Apple Music subscription on Google Play. While you are able to watch TV Shows (US only) it is not the full iTunes experience.
If you have iTunes installed on your Windows computer for example, your Android device can use your personal library, but as far as purchasing additional content goes or family sharing you will be disappointed.
Apple is continually working on their Android app though, and if you follow the updates, everything points to them actually implementing the full experience step-by-step. So hopefully soon Android users can also enjoy the app with the same features that Mac users already use for years.
For Mac / iOS users this app comes pre-installed already, if you haven't really started using it, you should.
It offers many great deals for Apple customers and is easy to use.
If you're an Android user, you get to use the Apple Music subscription, which in itself is a great deal.
In any case, it is an app worth installing and comes with one of the few subscription services that I would deem "worthy".
