[Samsung] Always On Display Description
Samsung "Always On Display" allows you to display pertinent information on your phone display, without having to wake up the device (i.e tapping a button).
The information you can select to be displayed, is limited. Right now it allows the time to be displayed, a calendar, some controls like brightness and shortcuts to the most important applications such as your phone, messages and email.

[Samsung] Always On Display Review
Pros and Cons
Let's begin with the pros of Always on Display. It's very convenient to have your display always on the top so you don't have to "wake" your phone. I know what you're thinking: wait, if I have my display on all the time, doesn't that drain the battery?
Not necessarily. Samsung optimized the app quite well, and for this reason the information that can be displayed is also very limited, so that only info is displayed that has very little impact on your battery.
Samsung has done something amazing to save battery life when it comes to Always on Display. The battery life is saved through a kind of magic, I suppose. The cool thing about AOD (Always on Display) is that you can schedule the time and the amount of time you want AOD activated or deactivated. Because of this, the functionality is a terrific positive. It's so convenient to have your notifications and icons at your disposal. At night, you can put it into night mode so you have the display on with a digital time display.
When it comes to battery life, remember that it actually consumes more battery to turn your phone on and off through a screen tap. Therefore, AOD may actually help you consume battery life. Seems simple enough.
So what are the cons?
Well, for sake of an argument, there really are no explicit cons, it does have minimal impact on your battery and your display is always illuminated but that's it.
AOD is a wonderful attribute of the Samsung that allows for constant functionality and monitoring. It's designed to save battery life and after multiple uses, I've found that it does just that. I highly recommend this great application.
