Solitaire

Solitaire Description

Solitaire is a classic under the card games.

It is a game with easy rules, but hard to master. Perfect for when boredom hits or as a mental exercise.

With Zyngas Solitaire you always have it with you, ready to play a round or two.

It's available for both android and iOS.

Solitaire by Zynga even has an integrated stats tracker, so that you can measure your performance over time and try to improve your game.

Or "step up your game" as we Solitairians call it :)

Solitaire Review

Solitaire reviewerMarc

Solitaire is a single player card game which is also known as "Patience" in North America.

It gained a lot of popularity with the first Windows OS releases as it was one of few games that came pre-installed and millions of people used in the 90's and early 2000's to kill time (Of course not during official work hours, nobody would do that).

Zynga's Solitaire used to go under the name Harpan's Solitaire but the company was bought by Zynga in 2017.

Zynga Solitaire is played by millions of other players and comes with two different card-draw modes:

  • Klondike Solitaire 1
  • Klondike Solitaire 3

Which just means in Zynga speak that you can draw 1 or 3 cards in your games. It is supported for Android and all iOS devices including the Apple Watch (Apple Watch does not support swiping though).

Ad-Supported Solitaire

Many users complain that after Zynga purchased what used to be Harpan's solitaire, the ads in the game have reached ridiculous levels. After installing it myself, I too share this opinion. There is no way to skip ads and you have to wait at least 30 seconds inbetween ads.

Not the best way to monetize your app.

Conclusion

The game itself is a lot of fun and works great. The app is a bit slow sometimes, but I attribute that to all the ad-code that is loaded in the background. The only thing that makes this app not so great, are the ads. Otherwise I would absolutely love this version of Solitaire.
