Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail Description

The official yahoo! Mail app.

Free accounts come with 1,000 GB of cloud storage space.

You are not required to use a yahoo email address to use the app, it is compatible with any email provider.

Yahoo developed an awesome "spam filter" that differentiates between real people, and promotional email from companies.

The app has some in-app purchases, to receive professional paid support for $0.99/mo. or $9.99/year. Which also makes the app ad-free, but there aren't many ads to begin with.

Otherwise it offers everything you'd expect from a professional email client.

  • Advanced search features
  • Theme support
  • Integrated GIF keyboard
  • Multi-Attachment Support
  • Passwordless Sign-In
  • Google-Drive and Dropbox Integration
  • and more...

Yahoo Mail Review

Yahoo Mail reviewerMarc

Having a free cloud-storage contingent of about 1GB with any of the big three email providers is pretty much standard today.

The app is available for both android and iOS and enables you to set up password free login, which is a feature I personally really like. I'm not very good with managing passwords.

The official Yahoo! Mail app also comes with a couple of features that I have not yet seen natively intergated in any other e-mail application.

Save Money On Groceries & Shopping

Yes, you read that right...

What has saving money on your groceries and the occasional online shopping to do with an email client you might ask.

Yahoo Mail comes integrated with a coupon clipping feature, that allows you to clip coupons from many retailers directly in your email window.

There is a menu item called "Smart Coupons View" which enables you to go through all of your coupons in a highly optimized fashion, so you easily and quickly find the right coupon.

If you wish, Yahoo Mail even sends out notifications for coupons about to expire. That gives you the opportunity to still use it before it goes bad.

GIF Keyboard

Yahoo also features an integrated GIF keyboard, that many other apps and also the native iOS mail app do not have.

Every mail app should have this though, it's such a great feature. If you love sending GIFs, but really, who doesn't?

Other features worth mentioning are for example the ability to add attachments while writing, directly from the same screen using the same hand. It's a very small finger movement, that makes a huge difference in usability. That way you can easily attach things like documents, videos, photos or any other file type.

Yahoo! Mail also has the customizable theming features really figured out. Other email clients offers this too, but I find Yahoo's implementation the most mature, because you can change many small details and really adjust things so it looks completely different and unique.

Conclusion

Choosing your mail client is a huge thing, because for most of us it's something we use on a daily basis, and also constantly.

Having said that, I think the Yahoo! Mail app is one of the top three mail clients, in no particular oder. A clear recommendation from me at this point.
